We know that aging can be complicated. Loneliness and isolation are vital predictors of depression in older people. Creating opportunities for loved ones to socialize and interact with others, especially peers with similar needs and issues, can often be part of the solution.
Parker’s Adult Day Centers in Highland Park, Somerset, and Monroe provide varied and vibrant activities that encourage and motivate seniors to stay connected to their peers and bring meaning and enjoyment to their days. For those who need it, we also offer psychological services, individualized medication administration from a registered nurse, support services provided by a social worker, and personal and therapeutic care for adults with cognitive or physical needs.
Our programs feature ample group space, small-group activity spaces, soothing quiet areas, and outdoor space for gardening and other activities. Each program is staffed with an administrator, an RN, a social worker, an activities coordinator, and certified nursing assistants, all of whom are committed to meeting the needs of our participants. Our nursing staff and social worker liaise with each participant’s primary care physician, from which we create an individualized plan of care to provide the best possible medical care, from blood pressure checks to medication management.
Your loved one will also benefit from peer relationships and socialization. The program provides nutritious meals and snacks, transportation when available, and enjoyable activities and events.
