In this illustrated lecture, art historian Jennie Hirsch explores iconic twentieth-century chairs from around the world. Using photographs and advertisements, she examines seating designed for dining, lounging, reclining, and everyday life. Featured classics include designs by Eileen Gray, Mies van der Rohe, Jean Prouvé, Charles and Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen, Verner Panton, and Eero Aarnio.
