The Parker Difference
More than 115 years ago, Parker was founded as a place where people could age in a home-like setting. Since then, Parker has led the way in aging services and has been committed to challenging, changing, and expanding the idea of what it means to grow older in America. Parker looks and feels different from other senior living and care communities because we are different.
The difference is something you notice when you first set foot into one of our residences or programs. From our fantastic recreation programs, to our manicured gardens, to the sounds of children racing through the halls, you will feel the Parker difference in every service, program, and activity we provide.
We offer a variety of continuum of care services, including residential assisted living, long-term and memory care, post-acute care, plus home- and community-based services. All our programs include medical, social, personal, emotional, and physical support, empowering individual choice and enriching the lives of every resident, participant, and family member we serve. Parker takes a positive and bold outlook on aging in all of our work. Instead of focusing on what some might tell us we can’t do as we grow older, Parker focuses on what we want to do more of.
Parker prides itself on being an inspiring and joyful workplace for over 850 employees. We are proud of our staff—often described as kind, resilient, and dedicated. They embody our values of being vibrant, creative, and enriching, which make all the difference as we enhance the lives of the people we serve. Parker provides our employees with a supportive environment, varied and rewarding job opportunities, a comprehensive benefits package, competitive compensation, professional skills development, and personal growth programs. As a result, Parker enjoys one of the highest employee retention rates in the aging services field. We’re attracting new employees each year to Parker’s talented ranks and invite them to engage in our legacy, our unique company culture, and our evolution as an aging services system. Parker welcomes people of all ages who are excited about making a difference and finding a career in aging services. Check out our employee testimonials on our Careers page.
Along with our staff members, another shining gem of our workforce is our volunteers. More than 300 volunteers selflessly share their skills, talents, and time to benefit everyone within the larger Parker family. The tirelessness, professionalism, and compassion of our staff and volunteers put a smile on the faces of our residents, participants, and their families.
As a teacher and researcher, Parker is proud to partner with academic institutions, including Rutgers University, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Kean University, and Seton Hall University, as well as various county and vocational schools. We are also developing partnerships with well-known technology organizations about solutions that make aging manageable, relatable, and enriching for all of society.
Whether you’re considering senior living and care services for yourself or a loved one or seeking employment, please know that you have an open invitation to visit. It would be our pleasure to show you what makes our extended Parker family so unique and what we do each day to help make aging part of life.
All the best,
Roberto Muñiz
