In addition to the caring administrations and the dedicated care partners, Parker’s residents and participants experience the warmth and kindness of over 200 volunteers who provide over 7000 hours of service each year. Volunteers enhance the quality of life of our residents and participants daily through sharing talents, skills, compassion, and time.
Volunteerism is deeply rooted at Parker, beginning with our founder, Henrietta Parker, who encouraged and welcomed community members to help and care for the infirm individuals who resided in her home.
The volunteer department is an essential part of the culture of Parker. The volunteers provide services through activities ranging from gift shop cashier to discussion group leader. We offer opportunities for people to share their pets, musical talents, spirituality, hobbies, interests, and gifts.
Together with our medical care, our volunteers’ kindness, dedication, and spirit are integral to our Eden philosophy and mission to provide a home-like environment for our residents.
