In this tour, we are discovering American artists in the Barnes collection. Nearly a quarter of all the paintings collected by Albert Barnes were created by American artists, among them Marsden Hartley, William Glackens, Charles Demuth, Maurice Prendergast, and Charles Prendergast. Led by docent Joe Caliva from the Barnes Foundation, we will learn about Dr. Barnes’s relationship with many of these talented artists and how they brought modernism to America.
