Liberty Hall is the home of William Livingston, New Jersey’s first elected governor and signer of the Constitution. Built in 1772 on the eve of the American Revolution, Liberty Hall has witnessed more than 250 years of American and New Jersey history. Liberty Hall was not only the home of the first governor of New Jersey, but it was also the home to six successive generations of the Kean family who have dedicated their lives and careers to the growth of this state. The lives of the people who called Liberty Hall home, their letters, diaries, photographs, and the everyday objects they left behind bring this history to life uniquely.
