This magical city, with its splendor in architecture, the visual arts, and drama, had a love/hate relationship with the famous composers—Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, Richard Strauss, and Mahler—who were so deeply inspired by Vienna. We’ll listen to memorable excerpts from leading composers who made Vienna their home and examine the unique features of this city’s musical life, including its concert halls, cafés, and architectural layout.
