The Jewish Catskill resorts were the birthplace of great comic careers. Mel Brooks, Sid Caesar, Rodney Dangerfield, Joan Rivers, and many others started at hotels such as Grossinger’s, Brown’s, and Kutcher’s. Entertainment historian John Kenrick will talk on this rich comic tradition, with hilarious video clips and tales of the golden age of the Borscht Belt.
